Wellness: Optimal LIving

Continuing Wellness Journey & Mama Duck

Traveling in Wellness

Last week we looked at The Way of the Traveler by Joseph Dispenza and learned that travel transforms us as we move from one place (the old) to another (the new). I am learning the lessons of this new place. I started a course in Mindfulness and took my first Ta’i Chi Class since the accident. There are many new insights I have learned. The biggest one is that I need to have patience with myself in my recovery that is still in progress. It is difficult to go back to being a beginner in practices that I used to be proficient in or teach. I am learning a new “me” and I need to stop comparing what I could do with what I can do. So more lessons learned. Are you recovering from an accident or illness? Be patient and kind to yourself and learn with me. Patience with oneself is priceless!

I am expanding my awareness and undertaking this trip with mindfulness. I also attended a Reiki Share and had a moment with no pain which was the first truly painless moment I have had since September 23, 2014.  I am a Reiki Master and it is wonderful to share Reiki with others. It was rejuvenating.

My traveling companion, Mama Duck, is in the photo looking at me as I take the picture. I don’t want to disturb her and she isn’t happy at all with me taking pictures. I will try again in a few days. Life is truly an adventure and we must live mindfully in each day. Continue Reading

Next Steps In My Wellness Journey

Dreams, Plans & New Directions

I like the fact that I am a mindful traveler. In The Way of the Traveler, Joseph Dispenza states,  Travel transforms us fundamentally  as it moves us literally from one place (the old) to another (the new). When we have learned the lessons of that duck eggs_4654place, travel takes  us once again to the next level of consciousness. Here again new insights about ourselves await. As I start my  search, it is also a figurative search of another higher level of consciousness.  In this way all travel has a spiritual character.  On every trip we have the opportunity to expand our awareness especially if it is undertaken with mindfulness. I have or still am  undergoing the first part of the journey in imagining how it might be, dreaming the journey. The next step will be preparation, deciding what is to be taken and what is to mamaDuck_4687be left behind. The third phase will involve the journey. After that is the homecoming and the recounting of the journey. So I have been called to travel this new wellness path.  As I start my travels it looks like I will have a traveling companion for the next couple of months starting her journey. Mama Mallard has decided to make my yard her nesting area among my three dogs. Life is truly an adventure and we must live mindfully in each day. Continue Reading

Wellness Conferences & Vacations

My Time at the Arbonne GTC 2016 Conference

IMG_4418Last week, as an Arbonne Independent Consultant, I went to  the Arbonne Conference in Vegas and combined health and wellness as an Arbonne independent consultant with a vacation in Vegas-baby! Everyone needs time off and combining it with an educational/business conference is a great way to get it all.  Arbonne is a health and wellness company. We are becoming increasingly more health conscious and we are looking for products to help us look and feel our best at every age. According to Arbonne, “The idea to provide skincare products unparalleled in quality and effectiveness developed in Switzerland in 1975, when one man, Petter Mørck, together with a group of leading biochemists, biologists and herbalists, fulfilled his vision and founded Arbonne.” Continue Reading
